Jodhpur: Fodder-Laden Truck Catches Fire, Suspected to Have Touched Power Lines; Four Buses Gutted in Separate Fire on Pal Road

Jodhpur: A truck loaded with fodder caught fire in Jodhpur on Monday night, with preliminary information pointing to contact with overhead power lines. In a separate incident the same night, four buses parked at a factory on Pal Road were gutted.

Flames spread fast through fodder load

The truck was travelling from Khejadli towards Guda Vishnoiyan when, according to preliminary information, overhead power lines came into contact with it. A short circuit is believed to have set the fodder on fire. With the truck loaded with fodder, the flames spread rapidly and created panic at the spot.

Villagers who saw the flames rushed in and began dousing the fire with water tankers. On receiving information, police and fire tenders reached the spot, and the fire was put out after considerable effort.

A large part of the fodder was saved, and no casualties have been reported. Police gathered details of the incident, and the preliminary indication is that the fire started when the truck touched the power lines.

Four buses gutted on Pal Road

In the second incident, a fire broke out late on Monday night in buses parked at a factory in Gangana on Pal Road. According to preliminary information, a short circuit caused the fire, and four buses were gutted.

Factory employees managed to move some of the buses out in time, preventing a bigger loss. Fire tenders reached the spot and began efforts to bring the fire under control.
