Jalore: Three members of one family were killed and an eight-year-old boy was seriously injured in a head-on collision between a Roadways bus and a tempo in Rajasthan’s Jalore district on Thursday afternoon. The crash took place on the Ramseen-Bhinmal state highway near Bharudi Chauraha. The mother, her son and her daughter died. The family was returning home after visiting a temple. A crowd gathered at the spot as soon as news of the crash spread. Police reached the site and started relief and rescue work.
According to Ramseen police station house officer Arvind Kumar, the dead are Lalita Devi (42), a resident of Muthla Kamba, her son Kailash (19) and daughter Suman Kumari (17). The family’s eight-year-old son, Raju, was seriously injured and was taken to hospital for treatment. According to information available, the family was returning in the tempo after darshan at a temple in Ramseen village. Near Bharudi Chauraha, a Roadways bus travelling from Bhinmal towards Udaipur collided with the tempo. The impact was so severe that the tempo was badly damaged. Three members of the family lost their lives and one child was seriously injured.
Tempo Bought During Navratri Itself Was Involved in Crash
The loss of three members of one household has left the family in grief. According to information that has emerged, Lalita Devi had bought a new tempo for her son during Navratri. The family was returning from the temple in the same vehicle. There is an atmosphere of mourning in the area after the incident.
Police Seize Bus, Hold Driver
After the crash, local people came forward to help and informed an ambulance. Police also reached the spot and seized the vehicles involved in the crash. Station house officer Arvind Kumar said the Roadways bus driver has been held. Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
